Bold, fiery and completely unlike anything else on the bench, bumblebee jasper is instantly recognisable for its vivid swirls of yellow, orange and black - a colour combination born from the extreme chemistry of active volcanic vents. Each one-off cabochon is a genuinely rare find, found in only one known location on Earth: Mount Papandayan, an active volcano in West Java, Indonesia.

As these are freeform cabochons, sizes and shapes vary naturally from stone to stone - simply select the one you love from the images shown. As this is a one-off collection, once each piece is gone, it's gone for good.

• Sold individually, so you can hand-pick the perfect stone for your design
• Smooth, domed top with a flat base, ideal for bezel settings, wire wrapping or glue-in mounts
• Hardness of approximately 4-5 on the Mohs scale, so please handle with care and choose settings/pieces that avoid daily knocks
• 100% natural stone, so expect gorgeous variation in colour and banding from stone to stone

Please note: bumblebee jasper naturally contains small amounts of sulfur and arsenic-bearing minerals. It's completely safe to wear as finished, polished jewellery, but we'd recommend washing your hands after handling the raw stone, avoiding any grinding or sanding that could create dust, and keeping pieces away from young children who may put things in their mouths.

Dispatch Information

Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

Most orders are shipped the same day if placed before our cutoff. Dispatch may take longer during busy periods, sales events, or for complex/custom orders.

Special Delivery orders must be placed by 12 noon for same-day dispatch.
