Mermaid Tail & Pearl Necklace
This simple mermaid tail pendant necklace couldn't be easier to make and it looks really pretty. We've also added a little pearl charm for a little extra touch of the ocean!
Are you thinking of making this as a gift? Why not add a presentation box or gift bag to your order.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Thread your pearl bead onto the headpin so that it sits on the head and create a loop with the headpin by wrapping it around the tip of round nose pliers.
2. Use snipe nose pliers or flat nose pliers to hold the loop flat whilst you wrap the remaining headpin wire around on its self and down towards the bead. You can use round nose pliers or your hands to wrap the wire. Once you're happy with the wrap, you can use side cutters to trim the headpin.
3. For a neat finish use snipe nose pliers to squeeze the end of the headpin close into the coil.
You can view step by step of the technique on our advice page here.
4. Use snipe nose or flat nose jewellery pliers to twist open a jump ring and attach the mermaid tail charm and loop of the pearl charm. As the maxi belcher chain has large links, we have attached the jump ring to one of the links in the middle of the necklet before twisting closed to secure. If you choose an alternative chain with smaller links, simply thread the chain through the jump ring to secure.
