About Aventurine

Aventurine is a variety of quartz/chalcedony which is speckled with shiny particles. Aventurine's beautiful metallic inclusions give it a lovely iridescent effect, known as 'aventurescence'. It is commonly found in green but it can also be found in grey, orange and brown. It is mined in India, Brazil, Austria, Russia and Tanzania. It measures 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.
